Eagle Rock is a quaint suburb located just northeast of Los Angeles, just 2.3 miles from Chariot Inn. When visiting the Glendale area, we suggest checking out the exciting local scene of Eagle Rock. A diverse and high-income community, Eagle Rock features a strong counterculture element and has become a hotspot for foodies in recent years and features unique eateries, breweries, coffee shops, art galleries, and boutiques. In 2014, Eagle Rock was listed on Redfin.com’s “Hottest Neighborhoods” list. Eagle Rock has grown increasingly popular because it has so much to offer. Even though you're in the Los Angeles area, it has a small-town feel; you'll find well-kept homes often full of charm and character on mature tree-lined streets. With its close proximity to Hollywood, Eagle Rock is also a popular place for filming and has been the substitute for many American cities.
Eagle Rock is the site of Occidental College, which was first established in Boyle Heights in 1887, but a fire destroyed its original site in 1896; from there the college moved to a temporary location in Downtown Los Angeles until 1898 when it moved to Highland Park, and then to Eagle Rock in 1914.
